Why Pittsburgh is an Example for the Nation

Pittsburgh and the Magic of Failure by Ben Schulman at Aaron M. Renn’s blog The Urbanophile is a very cool (if for no other reason than the Pittsburgh-love) article on the resiliency of Pittsburgh and how we can serve as an example to the nation during these challenging economic times. Pittsburgh’s economy bottomed out in the 1980’s and yet the city survives – no – thrives, far from the decline that many cities across the country are experiencing. I like to think that our vibrant nonprofit community plays a substantial role in our appeal.
