Pennsylvania Survey Suggests Old Donors are New Clients

Results from a survey of nonprofits conducted earlier this year by the United Way of Pennsylvania highlight the disturbing occurrence of donors now needing the services they may have once helped to fund. Nonprofit agencies across the Commonwealth reported a spike in first time requests for assistance (51 percent), with directors stating that those who once made charitable gifts to nonprofits now requested assistance from the same agencies.
